Part Time Cafe Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Cafe Assistant to join our café team.

The role is part time 16 hours contract based on a three week rota, including evenings, weekends & bank holidays with plenty of opportunity for additional hours for events, holiday and sickness cover.

You will be expected to prepare refreshments and light lunches, observe food hygiene regulations, maintain a clean and tidy cafe environment and deliver the highest standard of customer care. For an event, the cafe team may simply need an extra pair of hands to serve a higher number of customers, or a buffet may be called for.

You will have some catering experience, be able to work on your own or as part of an operational team and be able to work flexibly around the demands of the Centre and the events that are programmed throughout the year. This will include both early and late shifts and some weekend work. Carn Brea Leisure Centre Café is open 7 days per week.

You will have, or be willing to train to, CIEH Level 2 Food Safety qualification.

Rate of Pay – 16-17yrs £6.00 per hr

18-20yrs £6.70 per hr

21-24yrs £7.70 per hr

Over 25yrs £8.21 per hr

Trainee Lifeguard Assistant 32 hours

We are currently recruiting for trainee lifeguards who will be fully funded, supported and trained in becoming a professional lifeguard. Training in swimming, first aid, CPR, AED and spine board will all be provided.

No previous experience is required; this role is open to anybody who has the desire to be a lifeguard. You must be at least 16 years of age and able to swim 50m in 1 minute.

We are looking for people who are motivated, have a positive and professional attitude, want to enjoy work and make a difference to our customers.

You will need to be friendly, have good communication skills, able to work as part of a team, reliable, good time-keeping, able to work early mornings, late evenings and weekends.

The role of a lifeguard is to watch the swimming pool, maintain a safe environment for our customers and undertake pool rescues and first aid if required.

All lifeguards must attend 2 hours of staff training every month.

You will be expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness of poolside, our changing village and all toilet facilities.

Rates of Pay:

16-18yrs £6.00 per hr

19-20yrs - £6.70 per hr

21-24yrs - £7.70 per hr

Over 25yrs £8.21 per hr

Successful candidates will be required to attend our National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course;

Monday 5th August – Saturday 10th August 2019, 0900am-1700pm.

*Employment will be subject to passing the course and an enhanced DBS check.
