The National Rescue Award for Swim Teachers & Coaches is a two-day supervision and rescue award for swimming teachers, coaches and instructors working during programmed activities, such as swimming lessons. It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools.

The National Rescue Award for Swim Teachers & Coache LIGHT is a one-day supervision and rescue award for swimming teachers, coaches and instructors working during programmed activities, such as swimming lessons when Lifeguard or First Aid backup is available.
Please Note: This award is only suitable when the facility has staff qualified as Lifeguards or First Aiders that are available to respond quickly to a swimming teacher or coach in the event of an emergency. If Lifeguard or First Aid backup is not available the standard NRASTC would be required.

ASA Teaching Aquatics Level 1
This qualification involves teaching groups of 1-4 pupils from non-swimmer through the stages of the National Plan for Teaching Swimming.
The syllabus is completed as two modular units and includes:
Anyone interested in teaching swimming to apply, but candidates must be 16 years of age or above at the start of the course.
ASA Teaching Aquatics Level 2
This qualification involves teaching groups of 4-12 pupils from non-swimmer through the stages of the National Plan for Teaching Swimming.
The syllabus is completed as modular units and includes:
Units 1-5 will be held at Carn Brea Leisure Centre: Unit 6 will be work based assessments.
Candidate must hold the ASA Teaching Aquatics Certificate Level 1 to apply, and must be 17 years of age or above at the start of the course.
