Carn Brea Leisure Centre, based in Pool, Redruth has announced the appointment of Technogym, the world’s leading designer of gym equipment & fitness solutions, as it embarks on a £200k investment to expand and upgrade its health & fitness facilities.
The project includes replacement of the Centre’s entire cardio range of equipment with Technogym’s latest models and innovative ‘Skill Range’.
The new suite will be unrivalled in the area and include: treadmills, vario ellipticals, upright and seated bikes, rolling staircases, rowing machines, and as part of the ‘skill range’ a curved self-powered treadmill and high-end sprint treadmills with sled and parachute modes.
Additionally, the existing gym will be extended to increase the space available to train, with new flooring laid throughout making better use of the space, with re-zoning of the existing areas to make the gym flow better.
The air handling system will also be upgraded which will make training at Carn Brea gym an even better experience.
The project began on Monday 5th August, and the new and improved gym will re-open on Monday 2nd September.
Alex Clifton, the Trust’s Chief Executive Officer, said:
“The Board of Trustees and management team have been working hard behind the scenes to continue the delivery of our re-investment plan to provide a better facility for the community and I’m delighted that we’ve reached the next stage of what is shaping up to be an exciting few years.”
During the works - the existing kit will be moved into the sports hall meaning that although there will be some minor disruption, the health & fitness facilities will remain open for its users to enjoy as normal.
