Customer Update: Centre To Close Due To COVID-19

Posted on 19 Mar 2020 in General

We are extremely sorry to inform you that the Board of Trustees and CEO have had to make the decision to close the Centre at the end of the day tomorrow, Friday 20th March 2020 due to the COVID-19 crisis.

We appreciate the short notice is far from ideal, but the pace of developments and yesterday's government announcements have resulted in the Board and CEO having serious reservations that we can continue to open our doors to the public while at the same time exercising our duty of care for customers/staff and responsibly support the Government/Public Health England's protocols for the nation.

The Centre will be closed indefinitely re-opening at the earliest opportunity it is safe to do so, although the Centre will be closed for normal operations we will be supporting the government/Cornwall Council as a 'community support Centre' for all things COVID-19.

In closing, I can assure you that the Board of Trustees and CEO are committed to working through the crisis with the minimum impact on our customers and staff and as soon as we can re-open we will, in the meantime safety must come first.

If you have a membership with us your direct debit won’t be taken for the month of April and if you have an annual or bi-annual membership the time the Centre is closed will be added to extend your end date.

If you have a booking that you have paid for in advance please bear with us as we work through a huge amount of administration under challenging circumstances.

This is the first of many communications that you will receive with updates to ensure you are all well informed as the days and weeks pass.

David Price - Chairman, Board of Trustees
Alex Clifton - Chief Executive Officer
