Exciting Changing Room Refurbishment- 15th September

We want to let you know about some upcoming essential refurbishment work. From 15th September, we’ll be carrying out a major refurbishment of our swimming pool changing rooms, with over £120,000 being invested into refurbishing and upgrading these facilities - a significant improvement that will benefit users and strengthen the future of our centre. This is urgent work that we cannot avoid, however it will ensure our facilities remain safe, well-maintained, and fit for purpose.

We have put the following temporary measures in place and will be working hard to make your experience as positive as possible while the refurbishment is underway.

During the refurbishment:

• The main swimming pool changing rooms will be closed.
• The accessible changing and shower facilities will also be closed during this time.
• The accessible toilet will remain available for changing use where suitable. 
• Male-only changing rooms will remain open, and we encourage males to use these where possible.
• Temporary unisex changing cubicles and showers will be located outside the doors next to the track and the walkway will be under cover, with non-slip flooring leading back to poolside.
• Female gym changing room showers will only be available for swimmers if fully dry, to keep stairs safe.
• Limited temporary lockers will be available across the centre, therefore bags may also be taken onto poolside.
• To help make the process smoother, we kindly ask swimmers to:

Arrive swim-ready (wear swimwear under clothes or a dry robe/robe towel)

Bring flip flops or sliders for walking from changing areas to poolside.

Bring towels poolside to dry off before exiting (to help keep surfaces safe).

You may also need to allow a little extra time for your visit, especially when planning to use the shower facilities, as the temporary arrangements may take longer than usual.

We will also be reducing the capacity of swimming sessions during this period so that the temporary facilities can be used more comfortably.

Our swim school and schools will be contacted separately with specific plans for arrangements.
